The Tortoise and the Hare was the first piece to be written for a live concert and the success of this prompted the others to be written.
The music is written for various chamber ensembles underpinned by a core of string players consisting of a minimum of 4 violins, a viola, a cello and a double bass. The stories are told by actors and a narrator and solo instruments play the parts of the characters in the stories.
The instruments are meant to portray the characters in the stories but please feel free to substitute instruments if the originals are not available. The music will be supplied as midi files with text so it will be easy for other (possibly transposing) instruments to be accomodated.
