This is the Child we've waited for, waited for so long,
He has come to earth to save our souls, He is the chosen one

This is the Child we've waited to see, He is with us now,
Child from proph'sy, long foretold, here amongst us now

This is the Child we've heard about sent to intercede,
Comes a saviour, redeemer, King, sent to meet our needs

This is the child the stories foretold, passed down from age to age,
Ancient prophesies have been fulfilled, the story has come to pass

This is a Child portrayed as a King, born in a stable bare,
Heaven only knows what the future holds, time alone will tell

This is the Child we heard about, come amongst us now,
Simple parents fondly gaze unsure of what is to come

This is the child to answer our prayers, come amongst us now,
He is the one they said would appear, here is the special one

This is the child we welcome today, welcome with open hearts,
Born beneath a star that lights all the world, saviour for all mankind
